Great ambience! The place is made of antique instruments, great food and breathtaking view. Either you eat outside or inside both ways you'll love it. Lobster roll and calm cake was delicious, although I wish clam cake had more clam than flour. Everything is freshly made.

Our order included 1 lobster roll, 1 lobster roll boat (my parents liked the lobster rolls), 1 salad with only a small amount of lobster, a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie (which my parents said was good) and 3 drinks. The total was $75.00, which was incredibly excessive for the amount of lobster in those 3 meals. At another restaurant, we paid less than that for 2 full lobster dinners and haddock stuffed with shrimp, scallops and crab. The scenery, of course, was stunningly beautiful. It did not make up for the cost of the meal though.

The outdoor seating is second to none. The view of the sea is wonderful and the food is great too. The lobster is fresh as expected. The clam chowder is soupy rather than creamy although that is not a bad thing. It is still very tasty. This place is worth every penny and it is not that expensive.

Tourist Review: Whether you agree or disagree with the market cost of seafood, eating at The Lobster Shack is truly an experience. We traveled up the coast and I can tell you, no place has the cheap seafood that 'everyone talks about'. I can get a lobster roll in Colorado for the same price as The Lobster Shack, but my Denver lobster roll is no where near as fresh. If you're visiting this area of Maine, it is a must. The food was extremely fresh and delicious. It is a popular place, so it can be busy, and there are not a lot of places to sit inside. We sampled the lobster and the crab rolls. Despite loving lobster, and having a ton of it on our trip, I enjoyed the crab roll more. I must say the second best thing about The Lobster Shack is the unbelievably gorgeous view. There is nothing like having dinner overlooking the ocean and crashing waves.

We came here for an early dinner at 4:30 today and it was very busy. We sat inside and it was warm and cozy with old new England shack atmosphere. Ordered fried scallops, fried clams, clam chowder, and lobster roll. Came to $86. Overpriced. But I must say, they gave you a lot of clams, a lot of big juicy scallops, and they were really good!! Clam chowder had very good flavor and big bowl, but what is up with the watery consistency of all the chowders we have had in Maine? I thought new England chowder was creamy and hearty. The lobster roll was a big overpriced flop. Come on. Literally about 4 or 5 little chunks of meat with lettuce and a dollop of mayo, and pickle on a bun. Big flop for $18. Taking off star for the roll and the price.
